Inspire others to help grow a safer and healthier global community through education.
Blake's Story.
Blake Dresner was the definition of a ‘waterman’. Growing up in Leucadia, Blake became very familiar with the ocean and was a standout surfer at a very young age. His talents eventually led him to travel the world in search of waves. On one of his excursions in Java, he saved the lives of two local children who were pulled out to sea. Through this experience he recognized the need for a higher level of lifesaving education in remote coastal communities around the world.
On August 15th, 2020, while on a surf trip in Salina Cruz, Mexico, Blake sustained a fatal injury from his surfboard and passed away on the beach. He was surrounded by friends who admired his passion and carry on his legacy today.

The EPICC Foundation was created following Blake's passing and continues to carry his legacy, promoting lifesaving education in remote communities around the world.

The Annual Blake Dresner Surf Contest is a way to celebrate Blake’s life while bringing friends, family, and our community together. The annual contest is presented by the EPICC Foundation.

Our Moonlight Message.
Our journey started on beautiful Moonlight Beach, located in Southern California. This beach is where we began our work in emergency response as ocean lifeguards. It is also where Blake Dresner served as lifeguard before his untimely passing. Being proficient in emergency medical care and ocean rescue is the core of what we do at EPICC.
During our experience at Moonlight Beach, we gained foundational knowledge resulting from helping others in a time of crisis.
Not only did we get the chance to save lives, but to share our love for the ocean.
Our team at Moonlight Beach is fueled by people who all share the same passion for making a difference in the community here, as well as those abroad.

This is exactly what EPICC stands for:

giving back to others while sharing our passion for making a true impact in communities around the world.
